How we got here
Spell the End of Cancer is an annual cancer fundraising event in memory of our dear friend, neighbor, and Scrabble enthusiast extraordinaire Ann Brewster Jones. Following Ann's death from pancreatic cancer in February 2010, a group of her friends collaborated to organize the first annual Spell the End of Cancer event. This evening of word fun and good company is now held annually, with all proceeds benefiting Stand Up to Cancer, an organization dedicated to accelerating groundbreaking cancer research and encouraging collaboration instead of competition.
To date, we have raised over
$40,000 in four years. Thank you
to everyone who has donated thus
far. If you would like to join in our
efforts and help Spell the End of Cancer, please click the donate button below.
There is no score without help
Without these generous sponsors we couldn't put on this great event.

BE SOCIAL
When
We Feel Helpless
to Help...
Someone close to us is ill – family member, friend, neighbor, co-worker – and we suddenly realize how powerless we are.
Or are we?
In her book If There’s Anything I Can Do…, Josephine Hicks shares what she has learned about the vital role friends and loved ones play when illness strikes. With poignant humor and gentle honesty, Hicks has turned her experiences as a caregiver into a real-world guidebook for everyone who has ever wondered how to help and what to say during the universal experience of navigating disease.

this book's sales will be donated to Spell the End of Cancer.
